Program Summary

The Safe Home service provides short term temporary safe shelter and basic needs for women and their dependent children who are at risk of violence or have experienced violence. This service provides safe, secure and confidential services in an undisclosed location, as well as information and supports for decision-making, short term shelter, referrals to other services and links to affordable housing in the Chetwynd and Tumbler Ridge areas.

Safe Home staff work with individuals to provide emotional support, assess safety, arrange for dietary needs, legal needs, referral options, and helps them set goals and implement plans for their next steps beyond the service.

This program is funded by BC Housing.

Emergency response is available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
