Career Opportunities with SPCRS
South Peace Community Resources Society employs more than 80 individuals to provide counselling, personal assistance, advocacy, life skills, parenting skills, child care and other supports. Due to the rewarding work, the turnover rate is low. However, the organization is always looking for creative, talented, skilled and committed individuals to join the team. POLICY
Fair Hiring Practices
- All hiring by the South Peace Community Resources Society will be conducted in a manner consistent with the Employment Standards of BC while ensuring that the best candidate gets the job.
Managerial/Supervisory Positions
- All positions considered to be managerial or senior supervisory will be paneled and filled utilizing members of the Board of Directors or appropriate members of the professional community in the interview process.
Medical Examination
- All new hires, where appropriate to the requirements of the job, will provide proof of completion of a medical examination. Any doctor's fee will be incurred by SPCRS.
- Medical confidentiality will be preserved.
Criminal Records Check
- Candidates for employment will be subject to a criminal records search.
Driver's Abstract
- All new hires will be required to provide a copy of their Driver's Abstract prior to hire.
Confirmation
- Any verbal offer of a job position will be confirmed in writing.
Probationary Review
- Each employee hired into a position within the Society, whether it be a new employee or an existing employee moving within the Society, will be subject to a period of probationary review.
