Community Action for Senior’s Independence (CASI)

CASI is a one year pilot project, funded by the Province of BC and the UWLM.  It offers services to seniors that may assist them in living happy, healthy, safe lives in the comfort of their own homes.  The project could provide light housekeeping, light home maintenance, friendly visits, transportation, snow shoveling and yard work.  Some services will be offered on a fee for service basis, dependent upon the seniors’ ability to pay for them.  Some services will be provided by volunteers.  Services are offered to any senior 65 years of age or older, who is a resident of Dawson Creek.

Chetwynd Supervised Visitation Program

The Chetwynd Supervised Visitation Program was established to provide services to children, youth and families who are involved with the Ministry for Children and Family Development in a care agreement, and under which supervision of access visitation with a parent(s) is required. The resource offers a safe setting for children, youth and parent(s) to visit, provides monitoring and feedback to parent(s) during the visit, and ensures that the children and youth in attendance are supported throughout the visit. The program operates for 17.5 hours per week, with a flexible visitation schedule to meet the needs of the participants.

Chetwynd Family Support Program

The Chetwynd Family Support Program provides a range of services to families experiencing difficulties, and who may be at risk of having their children cared for outside the home, or whose children may be returning to live in the home. Services are offered in the community, or in-home, in which goal-directed parenting skills and abilities are enhanced to reduce risk factors, family relationships are improved, families can establish a sustainable support network, and so that children are able to live safely in the home and community. The program operates for 17.5 hours per week, with a schedule flexible to meet the needs of the participants.
