Getting Involved with SPCRS

South Peace Community Resources Society relies on the support of community members in meeting the goals of the organization. If you are interested in supporting your local community resources you can: Assist in community awareness and fundraising events. Many helpers are required to hold a successful event such as the December 6th Memorial, etc.

Become a member. Membership dues of $5.00 are due one month prior to the Annual General Meeting and entitle the member to vote on issues that direct the future of the organization.

Become a Board member. The nine-member Board is elected each year at the Annual General meeting for a two-year term. Diversity and varied expertise is necessary to ensure that our policies, procedures and programs meet the needs of a diverse community.

Act as an ambassador to the community. Get to know the programs and mandates of the organization and pass on the information to other groups where you may have influence

Advocate for the services. When changes to services and funding sources negatively impact the provision of services, letters and phone calls to government members can be constructive in ensuring that service recipients continue to receive the necessary services.

Support us financially. Your investments and materials from the community is necessary to continue to assist service recipients in practical ways such as a bus ticket for a family in crisis. Your investments also help us provide the services with limited funding.
