 POSITION  TITLE: Asleep Residential Night Worker - Temporary

 CLASSIFICATION: Asleep Residential Night Worker

 GRID LEVEL: 5

PROGRAM: City View Residence

REPORTS  TO: Department Manager

 

JOB  SUMMARY:

The Asleep Residential Night Worker will be  responsible for providing  a smooth  functioning program by:

·          Sleeping  through the night, waking only to attend to unusual circumstances.

·          Provides  assistance with morning and evening routines.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The Asleep Residential Night Worker will have:

·          Grade 12

·          Three (3)  months recent related experience or and

·          Equivalent  combination of education, training and experience.

The Awake Residential Night Worker must demonstrate:

SKILLS  & KNOWLEDGE:

The Asleep Residential Night Worker will require:

·          The ability to  work with individuals with developmental disabilities and mental disorders;

·          The ability to  manage high risk behaviours;

·          The ability to  manage crisis situations;

·          Excellent  communication and interpersonal skills;

·          Excellent  problem solving skills;

·          The ability to  work independently and/or as part of a team;

·          The ability to  work with people of diverse ages, cultures and personal situations;

·          Computer  literacy

·          A valid  driver’s licence;

·          Standard First  Aid and CPR Certificate;

·          A  Medication Delivery Training Certificate;

·          A Food Safe  Certificate;

·          A Basic Skills  Training Certificate;

·          A suicide  Prevention and Intervention Certificate;

·          CPI training;  and

·          Diversity  Training.

 

HOURS OF  WORK:

38.5 hours per week, flexible to meet program needs.

2 on/2off, 5 on 5, off

10pm -9am

 

RATE OF  PAY:

$25.95 for Grid 10, step 1

$22.94 for Grid 5, step 1

as per the Collective Agreement
