POSITION  TITLE:

REPORTS  TO:

Department Manager

 

JOB  SUMMARY:

The Childcare  Resource & Referral Facilitator will facilitate the day-to-day activities  of the Childcare Resource & Referral Program while providing resource and  consultation services to parents, childcare providers and other  professionals.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

The Childcare Resource & Referral Facilitator  will have:

·          Early Childhood  Education Diploma and two years experience in a supervised setting; or

·          An equivalent  combination of education and/or experience

·          All supervised  settings to be in services to children

·          A strong  understanding of and a commitment to a feminist informed practice; and

·          Capacity of  working in extreme crisis and traumatic situations.

SKILLS  & KNOWLEDGE:

The Childcare Resource & Referral Facilitator  will require:

·          Excellent  organization and prioritizing skills

·          Excellent  verbal and written communication

·          Excellent  relationship skills with service recipients, staff, professionals and agency  personnel

·          Demonstrated  ability to prepare and write a variety of reports

·          Demonstrated  ability to plan and deliver public presentations, meetings and workshops

·          Demonstrated  familiarity with strategic planning processes

·          Demonstrated  team building skills and leadership ability

·          Demonstrated  familiarity with computers and all relevant software programs

·          Excellent  knowledge of the geographical area, its communities and its resources

·          High degree and  awareness of ethical professional conduct

·          Understanding  and competence in working with diverse cultures, particularly aboriginal  people

·          Ability to  mediate and/or resolve conflict

·          Valid driver’s  license

·          Child Safe  First Aid and Child CPR Certificate

·          W.H.M.I.S.  Certificate

·          Foodsafe  Certificate

·          CPI

·          Diversity  Training

·          Respect and  adherence to ethics and confidentiality

HOURS OF  WORK:

35 hours per  week, flexible to meet program needs

 

RATE OF  PAY:

$27.54
