JOB SUMMARY:
For Intake Worker responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day support for crisis calls, walk-in clients, and intake/referral processes
- Respond to client needs in crisis with support, assistance, advocacy, and referrals
- Maintain current knowledge of local resources and collaborate with community organizations
For HIP Worker responsibilities:
- Connect with people experiencing or at risk of homelessness
- Assess client needs, assist with goals, connect to housing/services, and provide skill building
QUALIFICATIONS:
The Worker will have:
· a one-year diploma in the area of women's studies, social work or advocacy;
· One year experience in a supervised social services program; or
· an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

· Knowledge of local housing systems and community supports (Homeless Intervention position)
· Valid Class 5 BC driver’s license (Intake Worker position)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
General:
· Maintain confidentiality
· Respect client autonomy
· Build relationships with partners
· Record relevant service delivery data
· Cross-train as needed
Intake Worker Specific:
· Support crisis calls and walk-in clients
· Provide emotional support and goal setting
· Maintain and distribute crisis response resources
Homeless Intervention Specific:
· Assess needs, support housing stability, provide supplements
· Assist with IDs, benefits, and landlord relationships
HOURS OF WORK:
Intake Worker: 20 hours/week
HIP Worker: 17.5 hours/week
Total 37.5
RATE OF PAY:
Intake Worker: $25.95/hr (per Collective Agreement)
HIP Worker: $27.54/hr(per Collective Agreement)
