POSITION  TITLE: Program Coordinator - Temp Position

CLASSIFICATION: Program Coordinator II

GRID  LEVEL: 14

PROGRAM: Better @ Home  

REPORTS  TO: Department Manager

JOB  SUMMARY: The Coordinator will:

·          Plan, implement  and oversee the day-to-day activities of the program and its volunteers

·          Assess the  needs of seniors that are referred to the program

·          Develop a plan  to connect seniors with existing services in the community which include,  advocacy, non-medical supports, nutrition/food securities,  social/recreational connections and growth

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Diploma in a related  human/social service field.  Three (3)  years recent related experience including 1 year supervision or administration  experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and  experience.

 

SKILLS  & KNOWLEDGE:

·          Excellent  verbal and written communication

·          Good public  presentation skills

·          Tact and  diplomacy

·          Excellent  interpersonal skills

·          Good problem  solving skills

·          Ability to work  independently

·          Working  knowledge of Excel, Word and e-mail programs

·          Ability to work  with diverse cultures

·          Valid driver’s  license

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

·          Plans and  develops Better @ Home programming in consultation with the Advisory Board

·          Oversees the  day-to-day operations of the program by ensuring that the necessary  facilities are in place, program guidelines and policies are adhered to, and  program standards and requirements are met.

·          Makes  recommendations to the Advisory Board regarding program development, policy  and procedures.

·          Promotes public  awareness of and support for the program

·          Liaises with  community service providers and other professionals to facilitate referrals  to the program and other services available in the community specific to  seniors.

·          Maintains  secure records, statistics and produces reports as required with sensitivity  to confidentiality.

·          Pursues other  funding development; maintaining records of all raised funds,

·          Monitors  program expenditures and maintains financial records in accordance to  established procedures.

·          Operates as a  community ambassador for the Better @ Home  & Square 1 projects, and senior’s needs.

·           

HOURS OF  WORK:

21 hours per week, flexible to meet program needs.

RATE OF  PAY:

$33.77, As per the Collective Agreement
