The Family Support Counselling Program is designed to provide support to families so that they can enhance their relationships and more effectively respond to crises within the family unit.
The program offers free counselling services for any family member, including individuals, couples and children, who are having difficulty with life’s problems. Within counselling sessions, the Family Support Counsellor provides information and support to parents and children with an emphasis on support, education and personal awareness.
Program clients can receive short-term help to be able to address many issues including:
- Parenting skills
- Parent/child conflict
- Grief and loss
- Blended families
- Separation and divorce
- Parental conflict
- Marital breakdown
- Conflict resolution
- Self-esteem and confidence building
- Facilitating life skills
The program is funded by the Ministry of Children and Family Development.
