Homelessness Intervention & Prevention

Connecting people to safe, affordable housing.

The Homelessness Prevention program is a targeted service for clients in Dawson Creek who need assistance to maintain housing and who are in the following designated groups:

  • People leaving corrections or hospital systems
  • Women who have experienced violence or are at risk of violence
  • Youth, including those leaving the care system; or
  • People of indigenous descent

Program Summary

The Homelessness Prevention program is a targeted service for eligible clients in Dawson Creek who need assistance to maintain housing. Our homelessness prevention worker assesses program eligibility and client needs to maintain housing. When appropriate, staff can provide rent supplements and assist people to find alternate housing. When clients have been placed as tenants, staff can support clients to maintain their housing and ability to live independently.

Phone us or drop in to book an appointment. Hours of Service are:

  • Tuesday and Thursday 8am-5pm
  • Every second Monday 9am-12pm

This program is funded by BC Housing.
